Welcome to the Creatives in Focus Podcast. The podcast where we discuss the journey to excellence and creating for impact.

On this podcast, I will be joined by creatives and entrepreneurs who are excelling in their fields and creating for positive impact. The Creative in Focus conversations will cover social impact, public health and entrepreneurship. My vision for this podcast is to inspire you to discover, grow and make your creative passions a successful and impactful reality.

Welcome to Episode 6!  This week, I had a conversation with Daniel Hubbard is a London based interiors stylist and art director. Daniel is the owner of Small Batch Goods. An online store of small-batch interior products that support independent makers, small companies and charities.

Initially working as a fashion designer in Italy, Daniel always had a love for interiors and transitioned into art direction for interiors photography while working for one of the UK’s leading retailers. Daniel set up Small Batch Goods to counteract the increasingly fast-paced and throwaway culture by providing quality products that are meaningfully crafted products made to last. I was drawn to small batch good’s ethos and stance on sustainability, supporting and telling the stories of creatives doing good through their journal.

On this episode, we speak on Daniels’ role as a freelancer and business owner not only focus on only making a profit but also doing good. We discuss the revival of the craft industry and supporting independent makers in the UK. We touch on the concept of slow living with a focus on wellbeing and conscious buying. Daniel offers some insight on collaboration with makers and artisans, forming strong and profitable partnerships. Daniel also offers key advice for creatives and start-ups.
